Analysers: Myths Vs Reality – Myth #4

It is a myth that you don’t need batteries in your analyser. The reality is that the use of an internal battery adds many benefits:

Increased portability and flexibility: Utilising a battery allows for analysers to be carried up scaffolding or ladders to get them closer to test and fill points allowing reduced hose length for more stable readings.

Despite being a substation with up to 400Kv overhead, finding traditional 120/230v plug sockets close to testing locations can be difficult and so hazardous extension cables are used.

Reduced size and weight: Gas analysers typically require the battery to provide the power to start the compressor on pump back due to the high Amperage requirements.

Without a battery, analysers require larger power transformers in the case to provide the requirement; making the analyser heavier and potentially larger.

The EMT Way:

All EMT analysers are provided with a high-capacity battery installed.

This battery allows for 8 hours of use without the need for charging.

This ensures operators can be assured that wherever the testing is required and whatever facilities are onsite, they can always get the job done.

The EMT Zerowaste Eco+ analyser is the smallest and lightest analyser on the market. Single person easy one handed lift and <18Kg means the analyser can be taken anywhere.
